Sgrios, Chaos Deity and the Law of Entropy

A meditation by Sister Pookah, Sgrios Acolyte Entropy, the end of all and the beginning of all; “From dust we are born, and to dust we return.” While wandering the road to Undine, a priest of Sgrios came across a monk picking mushrooms. The monk greeted the cleric and suggested they share a meal. Over the preparation, the priest talked at length about the church of Sgrios. The young monk politely smiled as she poured the hot pot of tea into three small crude earthen cups, offering one to the priest, leaving the other. The monk then served her find of mushrooms into 3 bowls made from split bamboo chambers. Once again, offering one bowl to the priest leaving the spare bowl with the tea. They sat in silence enjoying the aroma of the tea and the sweet taste of the lightly fried mushrooms, the priest curious to know what the young monk had to say on Sgrios and his teachings. The monk turned to the uneaten meal. “ I collected dead sticks from the living forest, fresh water from the stream,

On Sgrios, A Reflection

An essay by Sister Ansk; Sgrios Acolyte During my research and travels across the various sources of lore, philosophy and general knowledge, I have found many references that describe the basic concepts I have learnt as well as a simple, but an in-depth essay on Sgrios, as well as his direct opposition, enemies, enmities and allies. This knowledge, while hidden and spoken about in hushed tones; is the fundamental wisdom one would require to become adequately inspired with a wide understanding of our faith. One of the lessons I was initially taught during my initiation was that despite our god's connection to decay, chaos; we as children of Danaan have the light inside us as well as the darkness. This connection does not mean his followers need to embody the hatred of Chadul or to commit the evil deeds of the Dubhaimid, or Dubhaim. Only those Aislings who have truly been consumed by the madness truly enjoy the emotions associated with terror, hatred and depression. Conversely,

Sgrios Mass: Nature as Decay

I’ve been spending a considerable amount of my time in Mileth as of late; the sleepy rural community which I call home offers quaint charms unlike any of the surrounding provinces. Still, there is a sense of lonesomeness about it - the vast lantern-lined boulevards which were once choked with young ambition and beggars are now vacant dusty paths to nowhere. As our population declines, so, too, does the life of the city. Mileth used to comprise more than a handful of farmers and artisans, before the time of the Aisling this town was an empire, and before our known history only the Old Gods could say, for this town has an infrastructure that predates any writings. When you wander the surrounding wilds you can see remnants of the span of this once mighty city, with vacant hovels reaching deep into the woodlands to the East and to the West. Slowly the land is reclaiming what we so selfishly took from it; trees intrude upon the roads that outlined the boundaries of the city and struc

Sgrios Mass: History Deleter

It is, as of the time of this mass, Deoch 159. The landscape, the population and, most of all, our knowledge of the world around us has changed immeasurably in the years since we adopted Deoch dating in honor of His gift to us, our precious sparks. There are still Aislings that walk among us now who have experienced the growth and shaping of Temuair since those earliest days of the light; their preserved knowledge of the past helps us better understand our tomorrows. Still, despite the length of Aisling history, it seems but a blink of an eye when measured against the known history of our world. When the world was young it measured time in honor of Grinneal; a near eternity lasting, to the best of our knowledge, some 32,092 years. Grinneal was a tumultuous time that outlasted Gods and cultures alike. Just to put that into perspective -- from the emergence of the Mundane to the discovery of the four basic elements nearly 5,000 years had passed. Gather the events and history the Aisling
