Sgrios Mass: Our Sparks Returned

It's an all too common narrative: a group of adventurers meet an untimely end and, upon reawakening at the inn of their home town, curse the day Sgrios darkened our land for the disfiguring scar he left in their lapse in mortality. How sad that these eager aislings curse the name of their own savior rather than exalt His name; for it is only through his gracious compassion that most of us are able to stand here today, alive with our sparks still burning as bright as the day Deoch ignited them.
Aye, stop a moment to consider the fate that should await those who fall in battle should Sgrios fail in his servitude. Consider, please, that those who visit our Lord in His realm have, by no fault of Sgrios, just died! Yes, it is our hubris, our overconfidence, our eagerness to achieve glory that drives us into these accursed dens of peril and yet, when we fail to match our opponents and fall in battle, it is Sgrios we blame when we awaken to fight once more.
Before you submit to your urge to curse the name of your savior next time you are revived, stop a moment and think of the glorious miracle of which you have been the recipient. Give a moment of silent reflection to the notion that you have been saved from an eternity of suffering at Chadul’s hands by Temuair’s true deity of compassion, Sgrios. It is by his fragile, clawed hands that our sparks are returned to our bodies and should all we have by way of disfigurement is a mark upon our bodies, then praise His name that you have not lost more as you pass between realms.
So let us join our voices in song, let us illuminate this hall with the sparks if those who were pulled from neverending darkness and returned to our living paradise in Temuair, for without Sgrios our humble population would be naught but a few cowards and Fiosachd’s chosen bastards to walk this land. I shall, now and forever, look upon my scars and know the overwhelming love He feels for me, that he has held my spark in his hands and ushered it back to this land. Praise your name, Sgrios, I feel your love and it sustains me!
